Houston

What are we doing:

We’ll be working with an organization called Bounce that is connected to the BGCT. Click HERE if you want to see what they’re all about. We’ll be doing disaster recovery in the Houston area.

WE NEED ADULTS. Let me know if you’re interested in coming and serving with your teenager for a few days. The good news? You get to go for free.

Details:

  • March 12-15
  • $180
  • $50 deposit by January 15th

New Orleans

What are we doing:

Our students will be going to New Orleans for our summer mission trip, here, we will be working in neighborhoods, food kitchens, and doing lots of inner-city work.

Details:

  • June 4-9 (staying on Tulane’s campus)
  • $175

Haiti

What are we doing:

This is our church-wide mission trip where our students will have the opportunity to serve alongside other members of our church’s congregation. We will working with an organization called Mission of Hope Haiti, check out this link to learn more about what we’ll be doing in Haiti and their mission!

Details:

  • July 15-22
  • $1500
  • $25 deposit due by November 30

Requirements

  • Attendance- We should see your student regularly at 602 on Wednesday nights and Small Groups on Sunday mornings. If you’re an adult wanting to go on one of these trips, get involved in the church and the youth department. get to know the people you’ll be serving with!
  • Meetings- There will be 2-3 more meetings for the mission trips listed above as the dates get closer, students should make these meetings a priority so students will know all information released about the mission trips.
    • Join our “602 Ministry Parenting Together” page on Facebook or text @602min to 81010 to get the latest updates on trips and events as well!
  • Interview- Your student will need to set an interview date with Laine, where he or she will go through the gospel and share their testimony. This process will help your student feel more comfortable doing both, just in case he/she is asked or feels they need to do so on one of the mission trips.

How To Pay

  • Support Letters  (primarily for Haiti)
  • 602 Work Crew (money from this will not go to Haiti trip)
  • Forego seasonal or birthday gifts
