Scripture Passage: Hebrews 4:14-16
Main Point: Access Means Grace and Grace Means Power
Summary: Often times when the church talks about access to God, we want to talk about forgiveness. It is true, but often times when our only focus is forgiveness we can develop an unhealthy view of the purpose of that forgiveness. Often times, we live how we want in any sin that we want because God is going to forgive us. However, what we see in Hebrews is that grace is bigger than forgiveness of sins, but also gives us strength in our time of need. Our access to God means access to his grace and grace gives us power.
1.What do you think is the purpose of your salvation?
2.What are three words you would use to describe God?
3.How do we believe the writer of Hebrews wants us to view God’s relationship to our sin?
4.Does forgiveness mean we can do whatever we want?
5.Does forgiveness make you want to be better?
6.What temptation are you facing that you need grace to get through?
1. Last week you reminded your student they have access to you. This week remind them that you want to help them beat sin, not condemn them.
2. Set aside a time in your house every morning where there’s no devices or distractions where everyone has the chance to start the day in prayer asking God for grace for what they will face.
